Finally, clubs that live up to their hype.

Taylormade’s new Burner & Burner Tour Launch fairway woods and hybrids have just reached all the regular retail outlets and I haven’t seen this much buzz regarding a line of golf clubs since the Callaway Warbirds of the mid 90’s.

Nothing flashy, no super high end aftermarket shafts, no changeable weights, just a line of clubs that setup square, don’t sound like a tin can after you hit one and give you more of a mid-low shot trajectory. For the last month I have been playing TaylorMade’s Tour Burner driver and have been plenty surprised with its performance. Like the Burner fairway woods, the Tour Burner driver is about as quiet of a driver as I have hit, giving you more of a mid to low shot trajectory which increased my roll 10-15 yards.

Both of the 2008 Burner Fairway & Hybrid woods have a Tour Launch version which is slightly smaller and deeper faced, keeping your shots low and reducing ball spin. Also, both Tour Launch models have a slightly open face bias that helps keep your shots straight and reduces hooks.
